Prior
to the fall of 1996, the Mohawks Women were associated with Burnaby
Women’s Field Hockey. During the fall of 1996, the Mohawks
Field Hockey Club became a separate and independent entity.
The Dragons (women) and the Burnaby Lake Mohawks (men) had existed
as separate and independent entities since their respective
formation as clubs. On September 24, 1998, all three entities
became the Burnaby Lake Field Hockey Club (BLFHC).
In
November of 2006, the Burnaby Junior Girls also became part of the
club. BLFHC now offers opportunities for players,
coaches, umpires, and volunteers for a full range of men, women,
and junior programs.
